Meet Shumaker Roofing Team

Bob Schisler is from Towson, Maryland and has owned and operated Shumaker Roofing since 1987. He is a proud father to his beautiful daughter Jesse, and his amazing son Tyler, who is running the business with him. In addition, he has two additional children, Scott and Ella through his incredible wife Ruby. There are also 7 grandchildren. Bob graduated from Towson State University with a B.S. in business administration in 1980 and got his introduction into roofing after college, when he was hired as a sales rep for Tremco MFG. Co. He later moved to Frederick, Maryland in 1981 and has been an active member of the community since then.

In 1986-87 Bob was a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club and won several sales contests during his 7 year career at Tremco. He was quickly promoted to a senior sales advisor and trainer. As a result of wanting to start a family and limit overnight travel, Bob purchased Shumaker Roofing Co from Jack Shumaker. In the 36+ years Bob has been President at Shumaker Roofing Co, Bob and his staff have maintained an exemplary example of what it takes to be fair, honest and dependable within the community. Through various programs developed by Bob and his amazing staff, Shumaker has been able to contribute back to the community in many ways. Shumaker Roofing has contributed back by supporting and sponsoring the Korean War Veterans Golf Tournament, the bi yearly senior citizens’ luncheon, the yearly local uniform awards banquet, Habitat for Humanity, Breast Cancer research and many more yet to come. None of this could have been possible without the help of Ms. Terree Long, our former office manager and current finance manager, who has been with Shumaker Roofing for over 30 years.

Bob has extended a great deal of his time in developing many practices to improve the quality, productivity, and performance of Shumaker Roofing Co. Through continued sales knowledge, production boot camps, peer group memberships such as Proust, Certified Contractors Network (CCN), The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), and Storm Ventures Group (SVG).

Bob has overseen the development of the company as not only a retail residential and commercial full service roofing company, but also as an exterior maintenance and restoration business. Shumaker has expanded into insurance and storm restoration projects, including not only roofing, but siding, gutters, windows, solar and interior rehabilitation work. He is extremely proud of the reputation that Shumaker Roofing Co. and its valued teammates and associate contractors have established over the years and continues to provide our local residents with the same quality service as we continue to grow.

Ms. Terree Long (pictured left) is our former office manager and current finance manager, who has been with Shumaker Roofing for over 30 years.

Terree has a passion for the outdoors, with a special love for hiking, camping, snowshoeing, and kayaking. She finds immense joy in spending time with her four grandchildren, who light up her world. Terree’s warm personality and kind-hearted nature make her a delight to be around, spreading joy to everyone she encounters. To know Terree is to love her.

Is the Son of Bob Schisler and Co-owner of Shumaker Roofing Co. Tyler grew up in Frederick, Maryland where he met his wife of 10 years. Tyler joined the Navy after high school and shipped off to boot camp at the Great Lakes in 2013. Following Boot camp Tyler was stationed in San Diego on the USS CVN 70 Carl Vinson. He was deployed to the Persian Gulf where he served on a 10 month deployment, serving in the Valiant Shield in 2014 Inherent Resolve.

Tyler left the Navy in 2016, and pursued a career in information technology. He graduated from the University of Phoenix with a bachelors in information technology with an emphasis on cyber security.

In 2019 Tyler and his wife sold their home in San Diego and decided to move back home to Maryland. Tyler did not have the original intention of entering the roofing industry, but has come to love the art of building a business, culture and team! He is extremely proud of the company and loves to help people and inspire others! He is a dedicated leader who cares deeply about his family, team, and community.

Christian is an accomplished entrepreneur with a proven track record of building and growing successful start-up companies. With a wealth of experience in marketing and business development, he brings strong leadership qualities to the table. One of Christian’s greatest strengths is his ability to build prosperous rapport with clients and develop mutually beneficial relationships that extend far beyond the initial service or product provided. His passion for helping businesses succeed is evident in everything he does, and his clients appreciate his unwavering commitment to their success.

Christian is originally from Sweden but grew up in the DC metro area.

He attended the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business where he earned his bachelors of science degree in Marketing & Logistics.

He is a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. In his free time, Christian enjoys playing golf, fishing, and sailing around the Chesapeake Bay.

​Christian currently resides in Montgomery County, MD and serves the DMV area. He is our go- to man for any solar services in MD, PA, VA, DC, DE, and NJ and will be happy to answer any questions you may have!

We are excited to introduce a new member of our team, Bailey, who has taken on the role of office manager at Shumaker Roofing Co., following the esteemed Terree Long. Terree, who served as the office manager for over three decades, remains an integral part of the team. Bailey is thrilled to join this wonderful group and continue the legacy.

Bailey began the role in January of 2024, overseeing the company’s marketing initiatives, managing social media presence, and serving as the first point of contact for customers needing assistance with their roofing projects. Outside of work, Bailey enjoys spending time with her significant other, friends, family, and a beloved dog named Blue. Bailey’s hobbies include swimming, weight lifting, hiking, yoga, cooking, and relaxing at home.

We are grateful to have Bailey on board at Shumaker Roofing Co., and look forward to the support Bailey will offer to homeowners, project managers, and the office team. We anticipate a long and successful journey together!

Sean’s biggest passions in life are his family, music and helping others. He is a big ball of energy and you will often see him smiling. He has lived in Frederick for 24 years and is proud to call this community his home. In his spare time he likes to go to music events, fish, hike, snowboard, and spend time with loved ones! He is very detail oriented and has found great satisfaction in assisting homeowners with their restoration projects.

Sean serves the Frederick, Maryland area and is only a phone call away if you need someone to come out and look at your roof! We are ecstatic to have him a part of the Shumaker Roofing family where he is dedicated to helping our community keep safe, reliable roofs on our homes and businesses.

Michele is a Greencastle, PA native who thrives in customer service and community. Michele graduated from HCC with a health degree, but has found a love for assisting the community through insurance restoration! She is the mother of 3 beautiful children and makes it a priority to be the best version of herself for her family. Michele loves attending all of her children’s sporting events and when the weather is nice, you can find them outside in nature! She loves to keep an active lifestyle and prioritizes mental health and fitness!

Michele loves to meet new people, helping others and being of service to her community. She enjoys supporting her friends, family, and local businesses. Michele’s positive demeanor, knowledge, and thoroughness is apparent from the moment you meet her!

Jt is a Greencastle, Pennsylvania-based insurance restoration specialist, dedicated husband, and father of one. With a wealth of expertise in insurance claims and restoration processes, JT is a trusted professional in the field. Beyond his career, he actively contributes to the community by coaching baseball in the local area. Known for his positive attitude, JT approaches every aspect of life with a genuine desire to please, creating a welcoming and supportive environment in both his professional and personal spheres.

Adam is a Project Manager at Shumaker Roofing Co. Adam is not only a reputable, hardworking, and driven professional but also a passionate enthusiast of travel, sports-related activities, and art. His kind and passionate nature makes him a beloved member of our team, and also a wonderful representative for homeowners in the process of any roofing project.
